The Detroit Lions placed running back Mikel Leshoure on injured reserve today, a week after the second-round pick suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon.The Lions also released offensive lineman Tony Ugoh and signed cornerback Anthony Madison, who played last year with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Leshoure, a second-round draft pick from Illinois, has reportedly torn his Achilles tendon and is out for the rest of the 2011-2012 season.

Head Coach Jim Schwartz said that Leshoure tore his Achilles tendon in his left foot and is going to be “out for the year”. Do you think Leshoure will be the starter in 2012? I think Best is done and even though Kevin Smith has talent he'll never be able to stay healthy. Is this going to be a time share or does Leshoure become a fantasy sleeper this year?
